Charity says “ Holy Grail” of cancer treatment masks progress

A charity found that thing with cancer therapy was the “holy grail” of the disease’s research, meaning the public was unaware of developments that made patients live longer. The Cancer Research Institute (ICR) said that this effect could lead to an overly binary “cure or nothing” approach to cancer that might not help. A survey by the association found that, although people diagnosed with cancer have improved their lives by ten years. And their quality of life has improved, very few people believe that cancer can be organized in the long term. In contrast, more than 40% said they believe they can treat heart disease for the long term, and more than 70% of people say they can treat diabetes.
