Emojis let to express your feelings and emotions without typing a single word. Emojis also make messaging more fun. This is going to be more fun as several new emojis will be soon added to smartphones. The two prominent emojis among them would be a pregnant man and a pregnant gender-neutral person. Reports suggest that around 37 new emojis would be added to play with. The new emoji icons will be soon added as part of the Emoji 14.0 update. There would be a range of other inclusive illustrations covering all genders and skin tones.
The proposal to add new pregnancy emojis was first announced earlier this year. Both the emojis are similar to the emoji of a pregnant woman already available for users. Both the man and a gender-neutral person can be seen having their hands clasped over their baby bumps. While the man can be seen with a little mustache, the gender-neutral person has mid-length hair. Apart from this, the updates also include characters representing a royal person, melting face emoji, multiracial handshake, and others. The changes will give users more options to express their feelings with the help of emojis.
The addition of new emojis is an effort to make it look more neutral. This is apparently the Unicode Consortium had added a woman with a beard. It must be noted that these emojis are yet to get final approval and some of them are likely to change before that. Earlier in 2020, the consortium had said that version 14.0 would be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Emojis have always been an integral part of messaging platforms and every company works on its own to make them better. Recently, Microsoft had announced that it would redesign its around 1800 emojis. The tech giant had also said that its paper clip emoji would be swapped with its assistant Clippy. Meanwhile, it is pertinent to mention that a study published by Adobe revealed that ‘laugh out loud’ it the most popular emoji in the world.
